Pippit turns prompts, product links and uploaded media into AI video and image drafts. Use it when you need a first version to work from. If you already have the footage and know the edit you want, a familiar timeline editor may be the quicker start.

Begin with one short, non-urgent project. Find out whether the result keeps your product details intact, what the attempt costs and what still needs editing before you commit a whole campaign.

What is Pippit—and which app should you open?

Pippit was previously called CapCut Commerce Pro. The official rebrand announcement describes a separate platform powered by CapCut, not a new name for the regular CapCut editor.

You can use the web product or look for Pippit: AI Video & Image Maker in Google Play and Apple's App Store. Both linked listings name Bytedance as the developer or seller. Store availability can differ by country.

The Apple listing allows the iPhone app on compatible Apple-silicon Macs but labels it not verified for macOS. That is not a dedicated desktop editor. The steps below concern the web product; we have not established feature or credit parity with the mobile apps.

How to start your first Pippit video

The current Pippit homepage offers a video/image composer. Its video instructions describe choosing a model, adding a link or media, writing a prompt and setting options such as aspect ratio, language and duration. The controls available after sign-in depend on the selected tool and account.

Prepare

Use media you own or have permission to use for this job. Write down the exact product name and allowed claims.

Choose Video, add your input and describe the result. Specify duration, shape and details that must stay unchanged.

Generate

Read the credit quote and note your balance. Submit one attempt, then record whether it produces a downloadable file.

Edit

Review the draft before making more variants. Correct the script, shots and captions in the available editor.

Export

Choose the download settings, save the file and watch it from beginning to end outside Pippit.

A useful brief is specific: “Make a 15-second vertical product video from these approved images. Keep the label unchanged. Do not add prices, specifications or customer claims.” This is an example instruction, not a promise that the model will obey every detail.

Have an image rather than a video in mind? Switch to the image tools and describe the change you need—for example, a new background around an unchanged product. Review lettering, proportions and packaging as closely as you would in a video.

You can edit inside Pippit

You do not need CapCut just to trim a Pippit video or add captions. Pippit's editing and download instructions document its own video editor, auto-captioning, music and aspect-ratio adjustments. For generated videos, the documented route is Edit more, then Export → Download. Button names can differ in newer tools.

Move to CapCut if you need a control your Pippit editor lacks or can finish the job faster there. A downloaded video is a rendered file: importing that file does not turn its baked-in captions, music and scenes into separate editable layers. Keep your original media and script if you expect to rebuild part of it.

Compare the label, shape, colour and stated features with your originals. Remove invented specifications or endorsements.

Listen for names and clipped words. Read every caption, check timing and make sure music does not bury the voice.

Inspect crop, resolution, first and last frames, watermarks and AI labels. Check readability at the size viewers will see.

Can you publish this asset?

Confirm permission for source media, people, voices and music. Review the destination's disclosure requirements.

Pippit's commercial-use guidance makes permission conditional on source rights and licensing rules. A generated result is not automatically cleared for every commercial use; platform material may have its own restrictions.

Count the work you can actually use

Keep job completion separate from file approval. One job might return several files, so dividing approved files by generation attempts can produce a misleading percentage.

  • Job delivery rate: jobs that return at least one downloadable file ÷ all submitted jobs × 100.
  • File approval rate: approved files ÷ all completed files reviewed × 100. Review the full set; do not quietly leave rejected files out.
  • Cost per approved file: the project's share of subscription cost, plus extra credits actually bought for it, plus paid editing time, divided by the number of approved files.

Convert time to money before adding it: hours × your hourly rate. Do not charge the same credits twice by adding their notional value when they are already included in the subscription share.

For example, $12 of allocated subscription cost + $3 of extra credits + half an hour at $20/hour = $25. If five files pass review, that is $5 per approved file. These are illustrative numbers, not Pippit prices or results from our tests. With no approved files, the cost-per-approved-file figure is undefined—not zero.

Also log waiting time separately from hands-on editing. A job can require little attention yet still miss a deadline. Set a limit on retries before you start.

Pippit AI FAQ

Is Pippit the same as CapCut?

No. Pippit replaced the CapCut Commerce Pro name and is a separate platform powered by CapCut. Do not assume a regular CapCut plan includes a Pippit allowance.

Is Pippit free?

Pippit's pricing page lists a Free plan. Read the allowance and credit quote in your account before generating; a dated screenshot does not establish your current balance, model access or export conditions.

Can Pippit make a video from a product link?

Yes, link input is advertised. Use a page you have permission to import, and check any extracted facts before using the result. A supported input does not guarantee a completed or accurate video.

Does Pippit work on phones?

Bytedance lists Pippit for Android and iPhone. Store availability and features may differ from the web product; this guide does not claim cross-platform parity.

Should I finish every Pippit video in CapCut?

No. Try Pippit's own editor for the changes it supports. Use CapCut when you need different controls or prefer its workflow; a downloaded video remains a rendered file rather than separate editable layers.

Can a failed generation still cost credits?

Yes. In our August 29 web-account test, a stalled product-image job deducted 105 free credits without producing a file. That is one recorded attempt, not a universal refund policy. Keep the job details and before-and-after balances if you need to report a problem.
